The why behind Easy-on socks

My son Max was born prematurely at 25 weeks. The struggle for survival has left him with autism and a tremor which affects his motor-skills.

Putting on socks is really challenging for him. He gets extremely frustrated which often leads to meltdowns.

In an effort to make is easier for him (and me) and avoid the meltdowns, I designed the Easy-on socks to specifically cater to his challenges.

These socks do not have a heel, making it easy for him to slip on. The guiding lines help him to know how to hold the sock to put it on correctly and make it easy to see that the socks are straight and not twisted.

These socks are now the only ones Max wears, and they have empowered him to put on his socks independently. While we still need to help him with other tasks, such as buttoning his shirt, this is one thing we no longer have to worry about. He gets the satisfaction of being able to do it himself, and we have the peace of mind that one potential meltdown trigger has been eliminated.
